Chief Investment Officer
Kim Wong is Chief Investment Officer at Cypher Capital, where he leads the firm's investment strategy across digital assets, multi-strategy trading, and institutional portfolio management. He oversees capital allocation, portfolio construction, and the development of systematic and discretionary strategies as the firm expands its investment platform and launches hedge fund strategies focused on digital asset markets.
Kim brings more than two decades of experience across global capital markets and digital assets, with deep expertise in derivatives, structured products, and institutional portfolio management. His career has been centred on developing investment strategies that bridge traditional financial markets and digital assets, combining macro-driven trading, market-neutral strategies, and structured investment solutions for institutional investors.
Prior to joining Cypher Capital, he served as Managing Director and Head of Active Treasury and Products at M2, where he built and led the exchange's investment and treasury business. In this role, he developed market-neutral yield strategies, institutional lending products, proprietary trading initiatives, and liquidity solutions across spot, derivatives, and DeFi markets.
Earlier in his career, Kim held senior trading roles at Citigroup within the bank's Global Markets division. At Citi, he led a team managing the convertible bond trading and arbitrage desk, overseeing a proprietary trading book of approximately $1 billion in assets under management. The desk specialised in convertible arbitrage, derivatives hedging, and structured equity strategies, while also originating and market-making convertible bond transactions for hedge funds, asset managers, and private banking clients.
Kim's combined experience across traditional financial institutions and digital asset markets positions him at the forefront of institutional adoption of digital assets, where he focuses on integrating hedge-fund-style trading strategies with emerging blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
Kim holds a First-Class Honours degree in Engineering from University College London.
